The Island
What Premuda is about
Nine kilometres of island, one village, no mass tourism. Instead: crystal-clear water, empty coves all to yourself, fragrant pine woods and a calm that has grown rare on the Croatian coast. Premuda isn't a place to tick off — it's a place to stay. Here's what awaits you.
Diving & snorkelling
The Katedrala is one of the Adriatic's most celebrated cave dives — a bubble-shaped underwater dome where light falls through cracks like rays in a cathedral. Beginners are well catered for too: shallow reefs, clear water, octopus and mussels on the sandy floor.
Bays & beaches
Three beaches within walking distance of the village. For more solitude, take a boat: Dobra in the south, Kalpić with its bright sandy seabed, and dozens of nameless coves in between with no crowds and no noise.
Exploring the island by scooter
End to end in twenty minutes — three Honda 125cc scooters are available to hire. The only road winds through pine woods and past stone walls to the water's edge. The best way to feel just how small and beautiful this island is.
Stand-up paddling & watersports
The Masarine rock formation is reachable by SUP or fins. Currents are weather-dependent — only experienced swimmers should cross alone. In calm conditions it's an unforgettable trip.
Just being outside
Pine resin, cicadas, the sea. Premuda is not an island for activity programmes — it's for people who want to actually arrive somewhere. Breakfast on the terrace, drifting in the water at midday, cooking together in the evening. That's a full day here.

Premuda — from antiquity to today
A small island with a big history: Romans, Ottomans, a First World War sea battle and the long struggle against depopulation and forgetting.
